There are a lot of suggested activities like blogging, sports, video games, jewelry making, socializing, exercise, and many more. For me, the best way to get your mind off things is by doing something productive. In this way, you will soon find out that not only you're not only able to get over your heartaches but you will also soon find out that you were able to improve yourself. Moreover, engaging in a productive activity might just open up opportunities for you as you improve in time.
You are right in guessing that I am speaking based on my experience. In my case, I tried to occupy myself by helping my sister in her jewelry making business. I never knew that I have a knack in this thing until I tried it one day. I am fortunate enough to get some tips from my sister, who is already a seasoned jeweler. Using the beads she gave me, I put together a beautiful necklace that my niece really loved. This really encouraged me.
Everyday I went to my sister's shop to watch her go to work. I also go over the internet to look for new designs and techniques. I practiced everyday until finally I discovered my own trademark design. My sister loved it. She is now selling my work in her shop too. I discovered soon enough that I have completely forgotten about my bad break up with my boyfriend.
The response from her customers when my little project was out for sale was simply overwhelming. It encouraged me to hone my skills and to persevere to come up with more ingenious designs. The good thing about jewelry making is the room for new designs is limitless. Well, of course, I owe this to my sister and to our ever-reliable supplier. Now, I am managing one of my sister's jewelry shop and at the same time manufacturing and supplying our shop with my own designs. I am also currently developing a new design, which I am so glad to have found the right supplies over the internet.
I am sharing this to you for the hope that you too will be able to see that life does not end after a bad break up. It is not forbidden to cry over such loss. It is normal. But you can not just simply throw your life away by sulking all day in your room and thus, destroy yourself in the process. No one wins this way. Pick yourself up and do something that you think you'll have good time doing. It maybe hard at first but soon you will see that everything is going to be okay after all.
