"The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the Old, but on building t

Change is inevitable. Scary at times, exciting at others and occasionally both.

Many times, when I help my clients it is after a major life change... Starting or expanding a business, going through a divorce, buying/renovating/building their first home. How are they going to let that change define them? How will they take ownership of their space? How can they insure that their space supports them during that change and beyond? As a designer, I don't just help make a "pretty" space, I help transform the space to reflect the client.

These pictures show a before, during and after of a powder room. When I originally helped design the home, the owner didn't want to invest in the suggested wallpaper. After 2 years of living in the home, going through a divorce and starting her own business, she was ready to take ownership of the space and make it pretty and inviting. To help keep her on budget, I found a sparkling paint from a local company instead of the original wallpaper- it felt like you were walking into a starry night instead of a plain white box. Then we added some custom agate artwork with silver leaf details. Instead of just being a utilitarian space, it now feels like a jewel box. Many people might just see a pretty bathroom. I see how the changes to the client are expressed through the transformation of the space.

If you are ready to embrace whatever change you are going through and need help in reflecting it in your space, you can contact me by email at info@the-silver-lining.com or through my website www.the-silver-lining.com

Remember to always look for the silver lining.
