The power of crystals in your home
In a world where quick fixes often steal the spotlight, it's not uncommon for people to turn to healers, crystals, and other metaphysical tools with the hope that they will serve as an easy solution for their challenges. The allure of a magical transformation requiring minimal effort is undeniable, but it's important to unravel the truth behind these mystical aids.
True healing requires introspection, resilience, and the willingness to confront one's own challenges. Embracing the self-healing journey means acknowledging that crystals and healers are tools, not miracles. They empower you to tap into your inner strength, aiding in the process but never replacing the need for genuine self-reflection and effort.
In essence, the magic isn't in the crystals themselves but in the synergy between your intentions and the energies they carry. So, let them be companions on your journey, not crutches that hinder your progress. The true power lies within you, and these mystical tools are there to amplify it as you navigate the beautiful path of self-discovery and healing.
I sat down with my friend, client, chiropractor and crystal healer, Betty Tupta of Back Benders and Auric Fields to talk all things crystals.
TSL - We know that each person resonates with different crystals to support their own spiritual growth. Do you find that there are a few key crystals that are beneficial for everyone's space? What is the role of each in supporting us?
BT - I get asked this question a lot by the crystal curious. my term for those just dipping their toes into the metaphysical world. There are five crystals that I think everyone should have in their home. First, clear Quartz. If you only get one crystal, this would be it. Clear Quartz is like an energetic Swiss army knife. It attunes to all the chakras; it is an amplifier and a master healer. My second choice is Black Tourmaline. This is a very grounding stone and provides protection, as well as promoting a calm household. Third is Amethyst. I love this one especially for a home because it encourages happy energy. It's a great choice for a living room. My fourth pick is Rose Quartz. This stone works on the heart chakra to promote empathy, unconditional love and compassion. Lastly, I chose Citrine. This is one of my all-time favorite stones. It's a great mineral to influence abundance, wealth and generosity. All good things to boost in a home. Here is a blog post that goes more into detail here.
TSL - Besides crystals, are there additional spiritual supportive basics you recommend for everyone to have/use in their home?
BT - I would recommend to routinely cleanse the energy in your space, whether it be at home or at work. What you are looking to improve is the energetic frequency of your space. In other words, raise the vibration. There are a few ways to do that. One would be to smoke smudge using an herbal bundle of sage or rosemary or any other herb you prefer. If you would like to cleanse your work space then smoke would probably not be a good choice. Instead, I recommend using sound. That includes, bells, chimes, sound bowls, tuning forks or even music. Whichever your choice, I suggest you say an incantation as you're cleansing. Something simple like, I cleanse my space to promote health and wellness. You can personalize this to suit your intention.
TSL - You didn't get into crystals that long ago. What shifts did you notice when you started incorporating them into your space? How has that evolved over the years?
BT - I was first drawn to crystal because of their aesthetic. They are just so beautiful. Later, I began to learn more about them and incorporated them in every room of my home. I noticed calming energy, abundance and an overall peaceful environment. I can't tell you how many times family and friends who have slept over commented on experiencing the best night's sleep. I attribute that largely to crystals. Eventually, I started incorporating them in my practice and with patients. This has amplified my treatment protocols and added to the overall relaxing tone of my office.
Thank you Betty for sharing your knowledge! I agree with your crystal selections and would also add selenite crystal to the list. It's a salt based structure that is used to cleanse, and uplift your home. It is one of very few crystals that is self-cleansing and can be used to clear and charge your other crystals. If you read my blog post on energy, you'll know how powerful I found using selenite in my own home.
